East Zhejiang belongs to South China fold system which features vast development of draped Mesozoic volcanic and red sedimentary basin. Widely invaded igneous rock and Proterozoic metamorphosed strata exposing like fault block uplift presents "one old, one new" geologic structure characteristics.
